About Us
Theatre Producers of Color (TPOC) supports the next generation of BIPOC producers by providing access to education, training, and mentorship.
Our Story
Since our founding in 2020, Theatre Producers of Color has aimed to break down barriers on Broadway by providing opportunities for aspiring producers of color. Facing a landscape where diversity in producing was lacking, the organization set out to change the narrative and open doors for talented individuals who were often overlooked.
We work to transform the future of live entertainment by impacting the stories that get to be told on stage. We aim to expand the definition of who can be a commercial producer while recognizing the importance of sharing stories onstage that reflect the cultural makeup, lived experiences, and personal interests of all backgrounds. The diversification of individuals in producing circles will work in tandem with creative teams, cast, and crew to truly expand access to the art form, creating a more inclusive and representative theater community.
